Welcome to
St. Bernard's!

Principal’s Welcome

St. Bernard’s is a community of students, parents and teachers working in a dynamic relationship, to achieve our vision of providing the highest quality Catholic education for the local community.

Since our opening by Bishop Bernard Stewart in 1963, St. Bernard’s has welcomed children whose parents wish them to receive a quality education, in a community that proclaims and witnesses Christian values within the Catholic Tradition.

We create generational communities where past students choose to return to St. Bernard’s for the education of their own children.  Past parents reconnect as grandparents’ and the comfort and trust that exists provide a strong foundation to nurture the next generation of St. Bernard’s graduates.  Families that are new to St. Bernard’s comment on the special atmosphere they feel as they enter our school, – the welcome, sense of calm, friendliness and joy they witness in the people they meet and the children they see.

New families and visitiors are welcome to come and tour our school!

Vision

Our Vision is

” To provide the best quality Catholic education for the children in our care”

Graduate Outcomes

We endeavour to create graduates who:

Parish

St. Bernard’s is part of St. Patrick’s Parish. Father Nathan, our Parish Priest, joins us at St. Bernard’s, to celebrate Eucharist or simply to visit

Sacramental Program: The parish and our leadership team support our students with the preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

St. Vincent de Paul: Our support of St. Vincent de Paul manifests with the Feast of the Sacred Heart, when our families generously support our parish with the collection of blankets and donations for the winter appeal. The start of Advent each year sees our families again donate to help St. Vincent de Paul support needy families at Christmas.

Catholic Identity

Our Catholic faith is central to all we do. We support our parents as they pass on their faith to their children.

Teachers and parents share the task of education in faith, and through our school community, we strive to provide our children with a working belief and living extension of the Christian family.

Our chapel is our sacred space, where we gather weekly for liturgy and Eucharist. For larger school Eucharistic celebrations, we gather in our school hall with our parent community.
