Excursions and Incursion
At St. Bernard’s Primary School, students enjoy excursions and incursions which support student's development and learning in our local community and surrounding areas in Victoria.
Excursions help develop students physical, sensory, cognitive and social development, while providing opportunities for them to expand and make connections in their learning through purposeful and meaningful real life experiences.
Foundation Unit
- Viewing performances at the Wangaratta Performing Art Centre
- Teddy Hospital visit
- Visiting local Churches in Wangaratta
- Swimming at Wangaratta Aquatic centre
Grade 1 & 2
- Visitors invited to support Inquiry topics e.g. Police Force, Parents with specific skills / experiences to share
- TAFE Sport and Rec students leading our students in sporting programs
- Swimming at Wangaratta Aquatic centre
- Visiting performances e.g. Reptile displays, theatre productions from Melbourne.
Grade 3 & 4
- Excursion and incursions with Galen Catholic College, through Galen’s Health and Physical Education subjects
- Visitors invited to support Inquiry topics e.g.Parents with specific skills / experiences to share, Health practitioners
- TAFE Sport and Rec students leading our students in sporting programs
- Swimming at Wangaratta Aquatic Centre
- Visiting Theatre production from Melbourne
Grade 5 & 6
- Excursion and incursions with Galen Catholic College through Galen’s Health and Physical Education subjects
- Visitors invited to support curriculum topics e.g. Visiting artist
- Swimming at Wangaratta Aquatic centre
- Overnight Camps - Outdoor Education Camp alternated each year with the Historical Camp to Bendigo / Ballarat
